DESCRIPTION

The State of Maine is seeking a vendor to provide an integrated system for ballot scanning, tabulation, and accessible voting. This initiative involves the lease of approximately 1,200 new precinct scanners and 600 compatible Accessible Voting System (AVS) units, which will be deployed throughout the state. The solution must enable secure, efficient, and accessible voting processes for all eligible voters.

Vendors are expected to provide a comprehensive Ballot Scanning and Tabulating System (BSTS) in conjunction with an AVS that ensures accessibility for individuals with disabilities. The project also requires the provision of election management software, enabling the election division to independently create ballots, program removable memory devices, and manage the tabulators and AVS units effectively. The selected provider must ensure compatibility, reliability, and compliance with state and federal requirements regarding accessible voting technology.
