Backup System and Disaster Recovery Solution

The province of Ontario is seeking a vendor to deliver an integrated backup system and disaster recovery solution. The proposed solution must operate within a Canadian data centre, ensuring Canadian data residency, and offer comprehensive support for both virtual and physical environments. Key technical requirements include the provision of immutable backups and compatibility with leading virtualization platforms such as VMware and HyperV. The solution must also support backup and restoration of physical servers running a variety of operating systems.

Integration capabilities with Entra ID (or Local Domain) for single sign-on are necessary, along with the ability to handle enterprise application backups and restores, including databases such as SQL and PostGres. The backup and disaster recovery components are expected to cohesively support current infrastructure, which includes Dell servers running Microsoft Windows, as well as both Windows and various Linux virtual machines. Prospective vendors must demonstrate the capacity to deliver a modern, resilient, and cohesive system that ensures business continuity and robust data protection.
