DESCRIPTION

The organization is seeking a vendor to provide an automated feature extraction solution designed to autonomously scan extensive, disparate datasets to identify and catalog critical infrastructure and objects of interest. This automated engine will serve as a key component in the maintenance and enhancement of an authoritative digital replica of the globe.

The proposed solution will modernize geospatial intelligence production by using AI and machine learning to automate traditionally manual processes, improve data accuracy, and seamlessly integrate with essential NGA production systems. The implementation of automated feature extraction (AFE) capabilities is expected to significantly improve the timeliness, relevance, and precision of geospatial intelligence, supporting crucial national security missions.

Key requirements include the automatic attribution of extracted features based on observable characteristics in accordance with domain standards, as well as the preservation of feature geometry, spatial relationships, and metadata from the source data. The automated extraction must be capable of identifying points, lines, and polygons, with a focus on the global collection of topographic features.
