The army medical center department seeks vendors to provide an automated digital cytology system. The required system must be fully automated and capable of supporting high-complexity cytology and digital pathology workflows. This includes a platform such as the Genius Digital Diagnostics System, which combines advanced artificial intelligence (AI) with volumetric imaging technology to assist cytologists and pathologists in identifying precancerous lesions, cervical neoplasia, cervical cancer cells, infectious organisms, and glandular tissue components.
The Hologic Genius Cervical AI, a cleared AI algorithm, performs comprehensive digital cytology analysis on ThinPrep Pap Test slides. The system must be able to automatically detect both low- and high-grade squamous dysplasias and glandular abnormalities, prioritizing suspicious areas and generating curated galleries for cytologist review. Key features should include high-performance imaging that produces high-resolution, all-in-focus whole-slide digital images and advanced volumetric imaging to handle overlapping or thick cell groups. The solution must include all associated hardware and software needed to support robust digital cytology operations.
