Proposals must be received by April 10th, 2026, 2:00 p.m.

City Commission action to award the contract is expected on May 11th, 2026.

Pre-Audit meeting with City by the end of June 2026.

Preliminary and field work completed by the end of October 2026.

Draft reports completed by the end of November 2026.

Final printed and bound reports by the end of December 2026.

Presentation of audit to City Commission on the first or third Monday in January or February 2027.

The government authority in Big Rapids, Michigan is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive auditing services. The selected firm will be responsible for preparing and examining financial statements and compiling the agency's Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. There may also be a requirement for a Single Audit, contingent upon the volume of federal grants awarded.

The auditor must conduct a thorough review of the agency's financial records, funds, and procedures for the covered fiscal years, expressing an opinion on the financial statements and reporting on compliance with relevant laws and regulations. All related financial statements and accompanying notes will be prepared by the auditor. Additionally, the selected consultant must grant authorized City representatives access to employment books, records, and accounts to ensure compliance with applicable policies. The contract period is for one year.
