The City of Monterey, California, is seeking qualified vendors to provide architectural professional services for various city facilities. The selected firm will be responsible for architectural planning and design, including renovations of historic buildings, tenant improvements, ADA compliance upgrades, energy efficiency evaluations and enhancements, and limited new construction projects.
Responsibilities also include preparing construction cost estimates at multiple design stages, as well as developing technical specifications for materials, systems, and construction methods in accordance with applicable codes and city regulations. The vendor will review development proposals, planning applications, and building permit documents to ensure consistency with standards and requirements. Record drawings (as-builts) in digital format are to be created upon project completion. The firm will support grant applications by preparing necessary exhibits, narratives, and supporting documents related to facility improvements.
Additional required services encompass civil engineering (site design, grading, drainage, utility coordination, and stormwater management), surveying (topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, monumentation, and legal plats), and geotechnical engineering (subsurface investigation, soils and materials testing, reporting, and construction-phase observation). Other potential services may include landscape architecture, environmental services, traffic engineering, code consulting, cost estimating, and various technical or professional services as needed for specific projects.
