A government authority in Halifax, Virginia seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive architectural and engineering services for the development of a recreation master plan. The selected firm will be responsible for implementing a thorough community engagement strategy that includes reviewing existing engagement materials, compiling community needs, and ensuring an equitable, inclusive, and proactive public participation process.
Key tasks include acting as a professional facilitator to gather input from residents and stakeholders, holding a minimum of two community meetings, and documenting all public communications and results in formats suitable for public sharing. The master plan should include a detailed assessment of current parks, trails, green spaces, and community facilities, as well as analysis of demographic trends using available county and regional data.
Based on these assessments and community engagement, the vendor will develop recommendations addressing operational, staffing, maintenance, programming, and funding needs for future recreational services in the area.
