A government authority located in Thousand Palms, CA is seeking qualified architectural and engineering services for the design and construction administration of a new maintenance building. The selected design professional will be responsible for completing the building design within twenty-four months, with an additional six to eight months allocated for plan check review and permitting with the County of Riverside and other relevant regulatory authorities.
The scope includes initial site investigation, comprehensive program research, and review of project history, incorporating feedback from the agency's capital projects manager. Tasks involve conducting a kick-off meeting with staff, developing a scaled block diagram outlining all program elements and adjacencies, ensuring on-site access, and test-fitting overlays on the site plan. The vendor will also be required to perform geotechnical and survey investigations for optimal building placement and address existing adjacency concerns through design solutions.
The new maintenance building will replace an existing seven-bay, pre-engineered, metal-clad bus maintenance and repair shop with a modern twelve-bay facility, featuring concrete block or concrete tilt-up exteriors and an open concept, metal-framed interior. Construction administration services are required from contract award through project closeout and as needed during the warranty period. The contract period for this project is four years, with a pre-bid meeting scheduled for January 29, 2026, and all questions due by February 12, 2026.
