An organization in Ohio is seeking a vendor to provide an anatomic pathology tracking system that manages, labels, and tracks tissue specimens throughout all stages of preparation. The system is expected to support the specific workflows involved in pathology specimen handling, beginning with label creation at accessioning, through identifying and grossing tissue specimens, and continuing across all necessary preparation stations until the surgical pathology slide preparation process is fully completed.
Essential functionalities include the ability for users to add tissue blocks post-accessioning, generate extra slides with appropriate barcoding and labeling when requested, and interface with other laboratory equipment within the Histology lab to enable automated staining and other processes. The solution must ensure seamless, comprehensive tracking of tissue specimens from start to finish. Additionally, the tracking system must comply with current and approved technical reference model (TRM) guidelines and possess a valid enterprise risk analysis report (ERAR).
