Organization overview and procurement intelligence available on paid plans.
A government authority in Oregon is seeking a qualified vendor to provide algae identification and enumeration services. The vendor must have the capability to analyze freshwater algae, including both phytoplanktonic and periphytic forms, and the ability to analyze samples for heterocyst and akinetes. Services should include standard analysis of preserved samples, specifically those treated with Lugol’s iodine solution.
The analysis must involve identification to group and species levels, with density reported in appropriate units such as cells, colonies, or filaments. Density data for toxic blue–green algae needs to be specifically listed in cells/mL, and biovolume should be reported both in μm3/mL and as a percentage. Vendors are required to estimate biovolume for all species encountered, covering at least 100 natural units, and to provide total density and biovolume data. Reporting must also include an assessment of the Trophic State Index. All results should be compiled into an electronic Microsoft Excel database spreadsheet for submission.
Questions regarding this RFP must be submitted no later than April 15, 2026.
