The City of Waterbury, CT is seeking a qualified vendor to provide construction services for a rear-mounted aerial apparatus. The apparatus must feature a minimum 100-foot aerial ladder, constructed from either steel or aluminum, and be mounted on a single or tandem axle chassis. It must support a minimum tip load of 750 pounds dry and 500 pounds wet, and accommodate five firefighters within a fully enclosed tilt-type cab.
The selection process includes several required inspection trips: an initial live video conference to review the cab and chassis prior to mounting, a secondary live video conference to assess progress and completion, and a final on-site inspection of the fully assembled apparatus at the place of manufacture before delivery. All project-related questions must be submitted by January 12, 2026. The resulting contract will cover a one-year period.
