A government authority in Royal Oak, Michigan is seeking to retain the services of an independent actuarial firm, separate from the current plan actuary, to perform an actuarial audit of its plan. The objective is to review the most recent annual valuation and experience study to ensure the results are sound and reasonable.
The scope of work includes validating that the current actuary is properly credentialed, reviewing the valuation report and experience study for completeness and reasonableness, analyzing changes from prior year results, and evaluating assumptions critical to the valuation. The selected firm will provide a written report with findings and any recommended changes.
