A government authority in Washington, DC is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive accounting and bookkeeping services. The selected firm will be responsible for payroll cost allocation, invoicing, grant reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records using QuickBooks. Duties include recording cash disbursements and receipts, tracking income and expenses by general ledger, funder, and activity codes, processing credit card and merchant services journal entries, maintaining the chart of accounts, and responding to management requests during the annual budgeting process.
Additional responsibilities include general accounting and bookkeeping tasks, tax preparation including 1099 forms, grant-specific tracking and reporting, allocation of direct and indirect costs, and preparation of financial reports for funders, the Board of Directors, and management. The vendor will support management in creating budgets for grants, contracts, and programs, track restricted funds, and assist with grant budgeting for applications.
